A hardy and robust perennial which produces single yellow dandelion like flowers in early spring before the heart shaped leaves which follow.

Will grow to 30cm (1ft) with indefinite spread it grows well in any moisture retentive neutral to alkaline soil in sun or open shade.

Please note: this plant will spread, so ideal for wild gardens where drifts look spectacular in the Spring.

The name Tussilago is from the latin Tussis meaning to cough which refers to its use to quell coughing spasms dating back to Pliny (AD23-79)
